Korea Advanced Materials Participates in Ministry-Led 'K-Quantum Industry Alliance' Launch Ceremony
Korea Advanced Materials (CEO Cho Heonjeong) announced on November 6 that it participated in the 'K-Quantum Industry Alliance Launch Ceremony' led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, held at Lotte Hotel Seoul.
This alliance aims to establish a private sector-led cooperative system to foster the domestic quantum industry ecosystem and promote the application and expansion of quantum technology industries. A wide range of participants joined, including quantum solution providers, user companies, universities, and research institutes.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has previously discussed policy directions through the 'Quantum Technology Industrialization Forum.' With this launch ceremony, the ministry officially established the K-Quantum Industry Alliance, a private sector-driven cooperative network.
The K-Quantum Industry Alliance plans to jointly pursue the following: building a quantum value chain, discovering quantum use cases for each industry, and supporting the global expansion and standardization of domestic technologies.
Korea Advanced Materials independently develops and manufactures precision optical equipment based on interferometers (Michelson and Mach-Zehnder) in the quantum industry sector. These products are supplied to overseas companies, including ID Quantique of Switzerland, as well as domestic research institutes. The company has also continued research and development in quantum measurement and optical-based application technologies through technical agreements with institutions such as the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).
Cho Heonjeong, CEO of Korea Advanced Materials, stated, "Based on our accumulated technological expertise in the field of quantum precision measurement, we are preparing to expand into application industries such as quantum communication and quantum sensors. We will actively contribute to building a private sector-led ecosystem in line with the government's quantum technology industrialization policy."
