Gangnam-gu to Host Youth International Conference Utilizing AI
English Presentations by Students from 18 Schools
at SETEC on November 7
Gangnam-gu in Seoul (Mayor Cho Sungmyung) will host the ‘2025 Gangnam-gu Youth International Conference’ at the SETEC Conference Center on November 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This creative convergence competition invites local middle school students to use generative AI (ChatGPT) to present on global issues in English.
Eighteen middle school teams that passed the preliminary round will participate in the finals, where they will deliver English presentations on international issues announced on the day of the event, representing countries assigned in advance. Presentations will be evaluated in five categories: creativity, logical reasoning, presentation skills, global understanding, and AI utilization capabilities. Outstanding teams will receive awards such as the Gangnam-gu Mayor’s Award.
For this event, the district collaborated with the Seoul National University Institute of Humanities and Information to run pre-event programs, including an ‘AI Creation Camp’ and after-school AI writing and speech training. In the preliminary round, 87 teams participated, submitting English presentations and videos created with ChatGPT, and one team from each school advanced to the finals.
