The new vehicles feature the city's integrated urban brand design, unveiled for the first time in 28 years, to improve visibility for users. The city plans to gradually apply the new brand design to the existing vehicles as well.
The special transportation vehicles are modified to accommodate wheelchairs and are primarily operated for transportation-vulnerable individuals, such as those with severe mobility impairments who have difficulty using public transportation. The service operates 24 hours a day, year-round, covering all 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province, as well as Seoul and Incheon.
The fare is based on the Gyeonggi Province city bus fare. For distances exceeding the basic 10 km section, an additional charge of 100 won is applied for every 5 km.
The city plans to begin operating the new vehicles in November after completing safety inspections. By 2026, the city intends to replace an additional 15 aging vehicles to further strengthen its mobility support services for transportation-vulnerable individuals.
Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "We will continue to provide meticulous support so that transportation-vulnerable individuals can use special transportation vehicles without inconvenience."
