Minister Won Minkyoung Holds First Meeting with Heads of Six Affiliated Agencies: "Practical Cooperation Is Key"
Minister Won Minkyoung of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family will hold her first meeting with the heads of six affiliated agencies since taking office.
On the morning of October 30, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced that it would hold a meeting with the heads of affiliated agencies at the Government Seoul Office, chaired by Minister Won, to strengthen communication and cooperation between the ministry and its agencies.

View original imageThe Ministry of Gender Equality and Family oversees six affiliated agencies: the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, the Korea Women's Human Rights Institute, the National Youth Activity Center, the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute, the Korea Healthy Family Promotion Agency, and the Child Support Agency.
A total of 14 people attended the meeting, including the six heads of affiliated agencies and six ministry officials.
This meeting, the first since the ministry was reorganized as the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on October 1, provided an opportunity for participants to exchange views on the current administration's policy direction and to engage in in-depth discussions on future cooperation. The ministry's key national policy tasks include: supporting the healthy development of children and adolescents and diverse families; building a gender-equal society where opportunities and rights are guaranteed; and ensuring women's safety and health rights.
At the meeting, Minister Won explained the role of the ministry as the control tower for gender equality policies and the progress of the three major national policy tasks, while also listening to the difficulties faced by each agency.

Minister Won stated, "With the expansion and reorganization into the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, it has become even more important to establish practical communication and cooperation with affiliated agencies. Going forward, let us work closely together to quickly reflect voices from the field in our policies and to implement gender equality, family, and youth policies that the public can truly feel."
