Eastern Gyeongnam Veterans Office Presents Award to the Late Jeong Soonup
The Eastern Gyeongnam Branch of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs presented a medal to the descendant of an independence patriot on September 30, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day.
The late Jeong Soonup was posthumously awarded a Presidential Citation for his contribution to the independence movement, having been arrested and imprisoned for participating in the March 1st Movement in Changsu-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, on March 19, 1919. The medal was presented to his eldest descendant, his maternal grandson Yoo Youngsik.
