Minister Hwee-Young Choi Meets with WIPO Director General Daren Tang
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that on October 1 in Seoul, Minister Hwee-Young Choi will meet with Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), to discuss strengthening cooperation and protecting the copyrights of K-content.

Director General Tang, who has consistently shown a keen interest in the success of K-content, reportedly planned his first official engagement in Korea as a meeting with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, who oversees the content industry and copyright system.
Minister Hwee-Young Choi plans to express gratitude to Director General Tang for his interest in K-content and will request WIPO’s active attention and cooperation in responding to overseas copyright infringements, ensuring that the legitimate rights and interests of domestic creators are not unfairly violated.

Since 2006, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been entrusting funds to WIPO and carrying out various international cooperation projects, such as training copyright experts, hosting the International Copyright Protection Enforcement Forum, and supporting alternative dispute resolution systems, to promote the development of copyright systems and raise awareness of copyright protection in developing countries.
