"Big Hit Rookie" Cortis Wraps Up Six-Week Debut Promotions After Billboard Success
The agency Big Hit Music announced on the 29th that the group Cortis has concluded its six-week debut promotion period.
Cortis wrapped up activities for their first album, "Color Outside the Lines," after their appearance on SBS's "Inkigayo" on the 28th. On that broadcast, members Juhun and Gunho participated as special MCs.
Cortis, who debuted on August 18, performed the title track "What You Want," the intro track "GO!," and the follow-up track "FaSHioN" on music shows. Through their agency, the members shared, "We were very nervous since it was our first time, but thanks to the support from our fans, we were able to grow. Even after our promotions end, we will continue to communicate with our fans."
The debut album achieved the highest first-week sales (according to Hanteo Chart) among this year's debuting rookies. It also ranked fourth in first-week sales among all K-pop group debut albums in history. As of the 23rd, cumulative sales surpassed 500,000 copies.
"What You Want," "GO," and "FaSHioN" each reached number one on Spotify's "Daily Viral Songs Global" chart in succession. "GO" topped Apple Music Korea's "Top 100 Today" chart for four consecutive days from September 21 to 24, and Cortis became the only boy group debuting this year to enter the Melon daily chart.
"Color Outside the Lines" ranked 15th on the Billboard 200, the main album chart, as of September 27. Excluding project teams, this is the highest debut album ranking for a K-pop group. "GO" entered the "Global 200" chart, while both "GO" and "FaSHioN" made it onto the "Global (Excl. US)" chart.
