[Click e-Stock] "Pumtech Korea Forecasts Record Profits Amid Indie Brand Boom"
On September 18, KB Securities recommended taking advantage of the recent share price correction in Pumtech Korea as a buying opportunity, noting that despite the stock's decline amid record-high earnings, the investment highlights and fundamental performance drivers remain intact. The firm maintained its "Buy" rating and target price of 79,500 won.
Pumtech Korea's third-quarter revenue is estimated at 96.9 billion won (up 13.8% year-on-year), with operating profit projected at 16.3 billion won (up 31.3%). KB Securities analyst Sung Hyundong commented, "The third quarter is typically a seasonal off-peak period due to fewer business days as OEM companies take their regular vacations, but we expect the growth trend to continue compared to the same period last year." He forecasted record-high annual revenue of 401.2 billion won (up 18.9%) and operating profit of 67.6 billion won (up 39.8%) for this year.
Despite reporting record earnings, Pumtech Korea's share price has dropped 21.2% since its second-quarter earnings announcement on August 8. Paradoxically, this decline has made the investment case even clearer. Analyst Sung noted, "By diversifying its client base, the company reduces volatility from individual brand investments, while still fully benefiting from the growth of the K-beauty industry, including unlisted brands." He added, "With a series of successful indie brand cases, it is noteworthy that since the second quarter of this year, the largest single customer for both the pump and tube divisions has shifted from major cosmetics companies to indie brands."

The continued improvement in operating margin is also a positive factor. Sung explained, "As hit products emerge among indie brand items, large-scale orders are increasing, contributing to greater efficiency. The company is able to maintain higher prices than competitors without artificial price hikes by launching new pre-molded products every month."
