The Mingyuan Education Award was established in 2013 by the Mingyuan Education Foundation of Beijing Normal University and has selected recipients every two years. This year, awards were given in three categories: research, practice, and overseas. Each winner in these categories receives a prize of 100,000 yuan (approximately 20 million Korean won).
In particular, the "Outstanding Contribution to Chinese Education and Research" award is a prestigious honor given to only one or two foreign experts who have shown long-standing interest in Chinese education and made exceptional contributions.
