Renowned Orthopedic Surgeon with Extensive Academic and Clinical Experience Joins the Team
Haeundae Bumin Hospital (Director Kang Daehwan) announced that Director Kim Hwitaek, a renowned authority in pediatric orthopedics, will be joining the hospital and begin seeing patients starting September 8.
Director Kim previously served as a visiting professor of pediatric orthopedics at the University of California, San Diego Children's Hospital in the United States. He has also held positions as President of the Korean Society of Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Surgery, Chairman of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Orthopedic Society, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Pusan National University, Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Pusan National University, and Director of Busan Medical Center, demonstrating a wide range of activities across both academia and clinical practice.
During his tenure at Pusan National University Hospital, he gained extensive clinical experience by directly operating on patients with congenital deformities and intractable limb deformities, and dedicated himself to orthopedic research and patient care through active presentations at domestic and international conferences.
He has also contributed to academic advancement and the training of future professionals as a full member of the Korean Orthopaedic Association, a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), President of the Korean Pediatric Orthopaedic Society, and President of the Korean Society of Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Surgery.
