KoreaTech, South Chungcheong Province, and Meister High School to Establish Semiconductor Talent Development Platform
All-Cycle Curriculum, Corporate Internships, and Credit Linkage
Full-Scale Launch of South Chungcheong-Style Talent Development
Korea University of Technology and Education, South Chungcheong Province, and Chungnam Semiconductor Meister High School are joining forces to foster semiconductor talent.
On September 2, Korea University of Technology and Education signed a business agreement at Yesan Semiconductor Meister High School and will begin full-scale efforts to establish a South Chungcheong-style semiconductor talent development platform. This will include developing an all-cycle education curriculum, credit linkage, and corporate internships.
Under the agreement, the three institutions will collaborate on nurturing regionally tailored semiconductor talent by sharing human and material resources based on South Chungcheong Province's RISE (Regional Innovation-led University Support System) project.
The main points include: ▲ joint development of an all-cycle education curriculum covering semiconductor design, manufacturing, and testing; ▲ operation of industry-customized practical training and field-oriented programs; ▲ intensive education and career/vocational experiences during school breaks; ▲ operation of credit-linked courses between the university and the Meister high school; and ▲ support for internships and recruitment in partnership with local semiconductor companies.
The three institutions will form a joint steering committee, hold regular meetings at least twice a year to review progress, and discuss future plans.
