Musinsa announced on August 26 that it has officially launched "Musinsa Used," a service providing members with a convenient and secure way to trade secondhand fashion items. The company aims to invigorate the fashion recommerce market by addressing the inconveniences found in existing online secondhand trading services.
"Musinsa Used" is a new service that allows users to easily trade secondhand fashion items through the Musinsa application. Musinsa supports transactions of clothing from over 20,000 domestic and international fashion brands via Used, regardless of whether the brands are officially listed on the platform, and plans to further expand product categories in the future.
The core of Musinsa Used is to offer a convenient yet safe transaction process. For sellers, the service eliminates the need for the complicated steps required by traditional secondhand trading platforms, such as taking photos, creating listings, washing, and shipping items. Buyers can purchase desired secondhand items directly from the newly established "Musinsa Used" section within the Musinsa app, without having to communicate with sellers.
Customers wishing to sell clothing they no longer wear simply need to open the Musinsa app and press the "Sell" button in their My Page. Musinsa will then send a Used Bag free of charge to the seller, who just needs to pack the items they wish to sell and leave the bag outside their home to complete the process. Subsequently, the items go through the "refurbishment" process, which includes collection of the Used Bag, condition checks and cleaning, and photography. The proceeds from items that are actually sold are deposited into the seller's pre-registered prepaid account, "Musinsa Money." For items the seller does not wish to sell, Musinsa offers a paid collection service.
Musinsa Used differentiates itself by leveraging members' purchase histories of fashion brands on Musinsa to suggest various opportunities for selling secondhand items. Musinsa can activate the recommerce of unused products after purchase, while members can easily sell their secondhand goods.
From August 30 to 31, Musinsa will host the "Musinsa Used Flea Market" at Musinsa Square Seongsu 4 in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, showcasing a wide range of secondhand fashion items, including influencer-owned pieces, vintage shop limited editions, and items from Musinsa employees.
