Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province will host the 8th Uljin Geumgang Pine National Amateur Volleyball Tournament, bringing together volleyball enthusiasts from across the country to compete and foster friendships, for two days from August 23 to 24.

View original imageThis year’s tournament will be held at five venues, including the Uljin County Gymnasium and Heungbu Gymnasium. A total of 49 men’s and women’s amateur teams from all over the country, comprising about 800 athletes, will participate. The tournament will determine the final champion through preliminary league matches and a knockout stage.
For amateur sports enthusiasts, this event will serve as a premier stage, while for local residents and tourists, it is expected to be a special sports festival.
The tournament also aims to promote a healthy leisure culture, facilitate interregional exchange, and foster harmony between generations through volleyball, a sport that is played and enjoyed together as part of everyday life.
Notably, this year’s tournament will feature four high school teams, naturally facilitating exchanges between youth and adults, and it is expected that the unique passion and energy of the younger participants will further heighten the excitement of the matches.
County Governor Son Byungbok said, "I hope you will showcase the skills you have honed through hard work and perseverance and achieve excellent results," adding, "I also hope you will experience the charm and flavors of Uljin and take home beautiful memories."
