Dong-Eui Science University Visits Sunway Medical Centre in Malaysia
Dong-Eui Science University (President Kim Youngdo) announced on August 18 that it recently visited Sunway Medical Centre (SMC), a world-renowned medical institution located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as part of the "2025 Blue Ladder (Type 1)" overseas exploration program organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation.
A total of 14 participants joined the visit, including students from five departments such as Nursing, Clinical Laboratory Science, and Health Administration, as well as two students from Busan Women's University. The students had the opportunity to broaden their understanding of the global healthcare industry and explore potential career paths.
Sunway Medical Centre is a leading private hospital in Malaysia, operating six hospital towers with a total of 885 beds. It is staffed by more than 3,800 healthcare professionals and features 60 specialized medical departments and 28 specialty centers. Notably, it operates Malaysia's first 24-hour pediatric emergency center and has received international recognition, ranking 193rd in the "2025 World's Best Hospitals" and first in Malaysia.
Kim Taekyung, Director of International Cooperation, emphasized, "This training was not just a simple tour, but an advanced educational experience where students learned about and communicated in English regarding the equipment and technologies used in real medical settings." He added, "We will continue to expand practical overseas cooperation programs to simultaneously strengthen students' career competencies and global communication skills."
