Ansan City to Support IoT Measurement Device Installation at Air Pollutant Emission Facilities

On August 4, the city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will begin accepting applications from businesses wishing to participate in the 'Internet of Things (IoT) Measurement Device Installation Support Project' starting from August 18.
This project aims to improve air quality, including reducing fine dust, by supporting the installation of IoT measurement devices at workplaces with air pollutant emission facilities. The deadline for attaching IoT measurement devices has been extended due to the revision of the Enforcement Decree of the Air Environment Conservation Act, and the Ministry of Environment will provide additional government subsidies as a result.
The total project budget is approximately 240 million won, and selected businesses will receive support for 60% of the installation costs for IoT measurement devices. There is no limit on the number of devices within the budget. Businesses that receive subsidies must operate the supported facilities for at least three years and transmit the data measured by the devices to the management system for small-scale air pollutant emission facilities.
Eligible businesses are small and medium-sized enterprises with air pollutant emission facilities of types 4 or 5, as defined by the Air Environment Conservation Act. However, businesses will be excluded if they have overdue national or local taxes, have filed for bankruptcy or rehabilitation proceedings, are currently closed or suspended, have installed measurement devices within the past three years, or have received government support for facilities within the past five years.

The city plans to accept applications from August 18 to August 20 and will select recipients through a subsidy review committee next month. Previously, since 2022, the city has invested a total of 2 billion won in this project and has supported the installation of measurement devices at over 290 workplaces.
