Chinese tech giant Alibaba has announced the release of its first self-developed artificial intelligence (AI) smart glasses, which will be launched within this year.

View original imageAccording to Chinese local media on August 2, Alibaba revealed that its AI smart glasses, "Quark Vision," will be officially released at the end of this year. The launch price of Quark Vision, which integrates a large language model (LLM) and augmented reality (AR) technology, is set at 1,999 yuan (approximately 380,000 KRW), with pre-orders beginning on August 15.
Named after Alibaba's AI assistant model "Quark," these glasses are promoted as an "AI assistant you can carry 24 hours a day." Quark Vision features navigation guidance, gesture-based PPT slide enlargement and movement, as well as automatic saving of conversation content and video information. It also includes Alibaba's payment system, Alipay, allowing users to make payments while wearing the glasses.
