Gyeongbuk Development Corporation Holds Social Contribution Project Contest... 15 Million Won in Support
Gyeongbuk Development Corporation (President Lee Jaehyuk) will hold the "2025 GBDC Social Contribution Project Contest" for about four weeks, until August 8. This contest, now in its second year, aims to discover user-centered social contribution programs. It was established to enhance the effectiveness of social contribution and increase beneficiary satisfaction by identifying customized social contribution activities that reflect the needs of the local community and various stakeholders.
This contest targets public interest fields such as social welfare (social contribution linked to the corporation’s business, improvement of quality of life for vulnerable groups in the community through health, welfare, and volunteer activities), fostering future generations (education and emotional support for children and youth from vulnerable groups), social responsibility (addressing low birth rates, youth inflow, aging population, and regional extinction), employment (job training for employment-vulnerable groups and unemployment solutions), environmental protection (ecosystem conservation, energy saving, and climate change response), digital (social contribution using digital technology), and others (identifying welfare blind spots). The contest is open to social welfare institutions, facilities, organizations, and local governments. Up to three projects will be selected, with a total support fund of 15 million won. Submitted projects will undergo a preliminary review and an in-person evaluation, with final selections to be made in September.
President Lee Jaehyuk stated, "This contest will serve as an opportunity to expand the corporation’s fulfillment of social responsibility and to discover creative social contribution projects," adding, "We hope for the interest and participation of many organizations."
Meanwhile, in June last year, the corporation held a social contribution project contest in six fields, including social responsibility, and selected and supported a total of three projects. The selected projects?"Children’s Climate Crisis Awareness Improvement Project," "Shining Life for Middle-aged Single-person Households," and "Digital Literacy Escape Program for Seniors in Yecheon Old Town"?are being smoothly implemented according to this year’s plans.
Gyeongbuk Development Corporation is driving real change in the local community through customized social contribution projects for various groups. Through this contest, the corporation plans to further expand ongoing community interest and the realization of social value based on public-private cooperation.
