The Hwaseong Economic Forum, which has been held once a month since 2007, is an economic network where local business representatives and executives gather to listen to lectures on management, economics, and the humanities, and to network. With this event, the Hwaseong Economic Forum marked its 200th session.
In his special lecture titled "Hwaseong's Unique Future Created Together with Businesses," Mayor Jung emphasized, "A city grows only when its businesses succeed, and citizens can be happy only when the city grows."
He added, "Good jobs are created by businesses, and it is the city's responsibility to create a business-friendly environment. Going forward, the city will work together with businesses to become a future-oriented city where work, residence, and leisure are harmoniously integrated."
Previously, under the 8th popularly elected administration, Hwaseong City achieved its initial investment attraction goal of 20 trillion won ahead of schedule and subsequently raised the target to 25 trillion won. To this end, the city is expanding the foundation for corporate growth by fostering national strategic industries such as semiconductors, future vehicles, and bio, building an advanced industrial ecosystem, improving transportation, housing, and working environments, strengthening support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and promoting the transition to artificial intelligence (AI) and smart manufacturing.
