'Yongin Eco Joa Yong' Program Runs Until September
Elderly Participants with Specialized Training Serve as Instructors
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on July 15 that it will operate the generation-linked environmental education program, "Environmental Practice Supporters Yongin Eco Joa Yong," until September. This program brings together elderly citizens and children to participate together.

View original imageIn this program, 21 elderly participants from the Cheoin Senior Welfare Center, who have completed a specialized environmental education course, serve as environmental instructors and provide play-based environmental education to children attending Strawberry Daycare Center. The program was developed based on educational consultation from the Integrated Science Education Research Institute affiliated with Dankook University.
Held on the second Tuesday of every month at Strawberry Daycare Center in Bora-dong, Giheung-gu, the program consists of activities such as raising awareness about the importance of the global environment and ecosystems, fostering proper consumption habits, and experiencing resource circulation. The program offers hands-on activities tailored to children, including butterfly rubbing and natural dyeing handkerchief making, endangered species fishing games, and recycling sorting games.
