Gangbuk-gu Issues Companion Card for Children and Youth... Provides 100,000 Won Annually for Cultural and Career Experiences
Applications Accepted at Local Community Centers Until November 14
Gangbuk-gu in Seoul is implementing the "Children and Youth Companion Card Support Project" to support cultural, artistic, and career experience opportunities for children and adolescents.
The program targets socially disadvantaged groups residing in Gangbuk-gu, including 13-year-old adolescents or first-year middle school students (born in 2012) who are recipients of basic livelihood security, members of the near-poverty class, persons with disabilities, or members of families with two or more children. Eligible participants will receive a rechargeable point card worth 100,000 won per year.
Applications are accepted at local community centers corresponding to the applicant's address from this month until November 14. Either the adolescent or their legal guardian must visit in person to apply. If the adolescent applies alone, they must bring an application form signed by their legal guardian. If a first-year middle school student is not 13 years old as of this year, they must provide either a certificate of enrollment or a school principal's seal.
After receiving the card, it must be registered on the Companion Card website for points to be credited. Cardholders can also check their transaction history and remaining balance on the website. The Companion Card can be used at a variety of affiliated locations, including psychological counseling centers, career experience institutions, bookstores, stationery stores, movie theaters, youth culture centers, and sports facilities.
