Chungnam Institute of History and Culture Recruiting Participants for "1 Night 2 Days Byeotgaritdae Experience"
Scheduled for August to October...
To Be Held in Taean, Seosan, and Dangjin
The Chungnam Institute of History and Culture announced on July 2 that it will be recruiting participants for the "1 Night 2 Days Byeotgaritdae Village Experience in Chungnam" program, which will take place from August to October.
The Byeotgaritdae-seugi is a traditional folk ritual held on Jeongwol Daeboreum, where a bag of five grains is hung on a tall pole and erected in a well or yard to pray for a bountiful harvest in the coming year.
The experience program will be held between August and October in various locations, including Gwanri in Taean, Jungwang-ri in Seosan, and Gijisi-ri in Dangjin.
The detailed program includes: ▲ education on history and culture ▲ making a Byeotgaritdae model ▲ watching a live demonstration of the Byeotgaritdae-seugi ▲ hands-on activities unique to each village ▲ traditional folk performances and crafts, among others.
In particular, Gwanri in Taean and Jungwang-ri in Seosan are designated as fishing village experience sites, allowing participants to enjoy both the Byeotgaritdae experience and tidal flat activities. In Gijisi-ri, Dangjin, participants can experience the Gijisi-ri Jultagi, a world heritage tug-of-war event.
The experience program will be held twice in each village, and applications can be made for groups of three to four people.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from the 10th to the 25th of the month via the Chungnam Institute of History and Culture website.
