'Shinhan Card Mr.Life' Selected as the Most Popular Credit Card in the First Half of the Year
Selected by CardGorilla
Based on Product Views and Application Conversions
The credit card platform CardGorilla announced on June 30 that it has selected the 'Shinhan Card Mr.Life' as the most popular credit card for the first half of the year.
CardGorilla explained that the rankings were determined based on the number of product views and application conversions for each credit card on the CardGorilla website, counted from January 1 to May 22.
The Shinhan Card Mr.Life offers monthly utility bill discounts for electricity, city gas, and telecommunications. Cardholders can also receive discounts at convenience stores, hospitals and pharmacies, laundromats 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; for online shopping, taxis, and food and beverage purchases from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.; and for supermarkets and gas stations on weekends.
The second and third places went to two of Samsung Card's best-selling cards.
The 'Samsung Card TapTap O', which ranked second, is considered a representative card for young professionals. It provides benefits through a lifestyle option package that includes discounts on public transportation and telecommunications, as well as coffee and shopping. Overseas, cardholders earn 1.3% cashback at international merchants.
The third place went to the 'Samsung Card & Mileage Platinum (SKYPASS)'. Cardholders can earn 1 mile per 1,000 won spent at all merchants. If the domestic benefits option is selected, an additional 1 mile per 1,000 won is earned at department stores, gas stations, coffee shops, convenience stores, and taxis. If the overseas benefits option is selected, an additional 1 mile per 1,000 won is earned on international purchases.

Ko Seunghoon, CEO of CardGorilla, said, "Among the most popular credit cards in the first half of the year, there were more cards that provide broad benefits across various aspects of daily life rather than those that focus benefits on specific merchants," and added, "In the second half of the year, consumers are also expected to use cards that offer greater benefits in major living expense categories."
