Strengthening Urban Branding through Local Cultural Convergence

With this selection, Catholic University will receive approximately 420 million won over the next four years, along with matching funds from Bucheon City and the Bucheon Cultural Foundation. The university plans to actively promote the creation of an inclusive humanities and arts city encompassing humanities, arts, AI technology, and multiculturalism, under the theme "Beyond Bucheon: 2029 B Project," in collaboration with Bucheon City.
This project aims to: establish a sustainable humanities and arts city; form an inclusive humanities and arts city; and realize a global humanities and arts city connecting Bucheon with the world. To achieve these goals, six humanities brand projects and 24 humanities city programs will be operated. Major programs include the Bucheon Storytelling Academy, the Media & Art Festival, Bangbanggokgok-Bucheon, Broad, and the B.Creative AI Camp.
Catholic University will maximize educational outcomes in the humanities and arts through its interdisciplinary educational capabilities, centered on the Department of Art and Media Convergence and the Institute of Human Studies. Bucheon City will work together with the UNESCO City of Literature Team, the Bucheon City Arts Troupe, the Bucheon Cultural Foundation, Art Bunker B39, the Bucheon City Museum, and local social welfare organizations to build a sustainable model of a humanities and arts city.
