Side Events Include Senior Performance Showcase
On June 14, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the Geumgang Senior Welfare Center at the Masanhappo District Office's main conference hall.
The event, organized by the Geumgang Senior Welfare Center under the theme "20 Years of Footsteps, A Journey Toward Dreams," featured a commemorative video screening and awards for distinguished contributors. In addition to the main ceremony, there were various side events, including a senior performance showcase, experience booths, and an exhibition of artworks.
During the event, the city presented plaques of appreciation to volunteers, program instructors, sponsors, and organizations that have contributed to the advancement of senior welfare and the development of the center.
As the only privately operated senior welfare center in the Changwon area, the Geumgang Senior Welfare Center has been providing a wide range of senior welfare services to promote healthy and happy lives for local seniors since its opening in 2005.
Meanwhile, the city provides annual social welfare project funding to the center to support enjoyable leisure activities for local seniors and to ensure the stable operation of the facility.
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "I hope that through this anniversary event, seniors will come to view the center as a more familiar and cherished space," adding, "Changwon City will continue to expand various welfare policies and leisure programs to ensure a healthy and happy life for our seniors."
