Annie shared, "When I was seven, I happened to see the music video for 'Lollipop' by 2NE1 and Big Bang. It was so shocking. A new world opened up for me. I was determined that I absolutely wanted to do what they were doing."
'ALLDAY PROJECT' is a co-ed idol group consisting of five members: Annie, Tarzan, Bailey, Woochan, and Youngseo. Teddy, a former producer at YG Entertainment, was directly involved in planning and producing the group.
In the video, Annie candidly spoke about the strong opposition she faced from her family on her path to becoming a singer. She shared an episode with her mother, Chairwoman Chung Yookyung, saying, "One day, as if I were possessed, I asked my mom, 'Mom, what do you think about me becoming a singer?' She laughed and said, 'That's impossible,' so I thought, 'Oh, I guess it's not going to happen.'
She continued, "Around my second or third year of high school, my family's opposition was at its strongest. Still, when I said I couldn't give up on becoming a singer, my mom suggested that if I got into college, she would help persuade the rest of the family." "I decided to give up on sleep altogether and prepared for the college entrance exams with all my might, and in the end, I was accepted to university. My mom said she never thought I would actually get in. She thought, 'How could she have studied when she was practicing at the studio all day?'" Annie explained of that time.
Annie stated, "People often think I'm not sincere about this path, and I get a lot of suspicion. I want to show just how desperate I am for this dream and prove my sincerity by showing many things."
