According to the Presidential Office, President Lee, accompanied by First Lady Kim, attended the memorial ceremony at the Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak District, Seoul, and then visited the nearby Namseong Market in Sadang-dong. This was President Lee's first direct meeting with citizens since his election.
At the market, President Lee and the First Lady personally purchased items such as dumplings, dried seafood, glutinous rice donuts, and coffee. It is reported that they used both Onnuri gift certificates and cash for their purchases. They were also seen shaking hands with local residents at the market.
