Samsung Pay Outage Causes Widespread Payment Failures Since Early Morning
Samsung Pay, the mobile payment service by Samsung Electronics, has experienced a nationwide outage since 6:20 a.m. on June 2.
One Samsung Pay user said, "I went into a cafe in the morning to buy coffee, but I was embarrassed because the payment did not go through," adding, "None of the payment methods worked, from password to fingerprint authentication."
Regarding this issue, Samsung Electronics stated that it is currently investigating the situation. A Samsung Electronics representative said, "It appears that some Samsung Pay users are experiencing intermittent difficulties," and added, "Not all users are affected by the error." The representative continued, "We are still checking the exact time the error occurred, its cause, and how we will respond going forward."
