Gangneung ARTERA, a Medium and Large-Sized Complex with Enhanced Usable Space, Draws Attention with Competitive Sale Price
The Hoesan District in Gangneung is emerging as a new residential hub. Previously located on the outskirts of the city, Hoesan District has recently gained attention as an up-and-coming residential area equipped with both transportation and living infrastructure, as well as strong underlying demand, as urban development projects have begun in earnest.
With the recent establishment of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Gangneung is preparing to become a central city for tourism, industry, and energy. Major development initiatives, such as the construction of the East Coast regional railway network, the development of Gangneung Port, and the designation as a hydrogen city, are being actively pursued, creating a positive atmosphere in the overall real estate market.
Amid these changes, a new apartment complex, Gangneung ARTERA, featuring specialized designs for medium and large units and enhanced usable space, has begun sales, attracting significant attention.
Gangneung ARTERA, located in Hoesandong, Gangneung, consists of three buildings with a total of 329 units, ranging from two basement levels to 28 above-ground floors. The exclusive area spans from 84 square meters to 166 square meters, focusing on medium and large unit sizes. Notably, the 84-square-meter A-type unit offers an additional service area of approximately 10 square meters compared to B and C types when the balcony is extended, appealing to buyers who prefer spacious living areas.
This complex features the tallest design in Hoesan District at 28 floors, providing open views. It also offers ample parking with 1.6 spaces per unit, and includes eight premium options as standard, such as built-in wardrobes, gallery windows, and fingerprint recognition door locks. Most units (with some exceptions) feature a wide 4-bay design and a cross-ventilation structure to maximize natural light and ventilation.
Above all, the sale price is highly competitive compared to the Gangneung area average. According to data from the Korea Real Estate Board, as of 2025, the average sale price for new apartments in Gangneung is approximately 16.7 million KRW per 3.3 square meters, while Gangneung ARTERA is being offered starting in the 13 million KRW range. This is more than 100 million KRW lower than nearby market prices, making it an attractive option not only for end-users but also for investors.
Currently, Gangneung ARTERA allows buyers to select their preferred building and unit on a first-come, first-served basis. The conditions are flexible, including no requirement to use a subscription savings account, no resale restrictions, contracts available for existing homeowners, and a 5% down payment, significantly lowering the entry barrier.
A sales representative stated, "Gangneung ARTERA is a complex that combines a prime location within Hoesan District, specialized medium and large unit products, and a competitive sale price. Its excellent accessibility to Seoul and the greater metropolitan area has resulted in high demand for second homes. In particular, the spacious usable area increases satisfaction for residents, and the low entry barrier for the sales system is leading to a steady stream of contract inquiries."
There are also many positive developments in transportation. It takes only eight minutes by car from the complex to Gangneung IC, and KTX Gangneung Station is nearby, providing excellent connectivity to the metropolitan area. In particular, the extension of the Gyeonggang Line KTX is scheduled to open in 2029, and construction of the Donghae Northern Line railway (Gangneung-Sokcho-Goseong) is underway with completion targeted for 2027. These projects are expected to have a positive impact on improving transportation conditions and revitalizing tourism throughout Gangneung in the future.
The underlying demand is also stable. More than 1,600 households have already moved into Hoesan District, and future development plans are set to expand this to over 2,400 households. Combined with Gangneung City's ongoing large-scale urban development plans, proximity to schools, and abundant natural environment, the complex is highly likely to become a landmark in the area.
