'Fostering the Traditional Liquor Industry'... Incheon TP Strengthens Promotion with Catalog Production
Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) and the Incheon Metropolitan Government are strengthening promotional efforts to raise awareness of local traditional liquor and boost consumption, including the production of a traditional liquor catalog.
Traditional liquor refers to alcoholic beverages produced by agricultural businesses or producer organizations using local agricultural products as the main ingredients. Production is only permitted with a manufacturing license recommendation from the city or provincial governor and a license from the head of the local tax office.
Last month, Incheon TP and the city produced a traditional liquor catalog that includes a map of breweries where visitors can experience and purchase traditional liquor. They plan to use this catalog to promote traditional liquor through various distribution channels such as hotels, golf courses, and public institutions.
The catalog features 10 Incheon traditional liquor companies that produce Takju, Yakju, and fruit liquor. The catalog is also available on the website of the Incheon Rural Convergence Industry Support Center.
Incheon TP also plans to hold three promotional events for Incheon traditional liquor this year on Naver Shopping and Incheon e-Mall. In addition, Incheon traditional liquor has been selected as the dinner beverage for the "Overseas Buyer Invitation Consultation Meeting" to be held in August, where it will be presented to over 30 buyers from 10 countries.
An official from Incheon TP stated, "Traditional liquor is closely related to the national agenda of promoting rice consumption," adding, "We will continue to widely promote the appeal of Incheon traditional liquor and nurture it as a high value-added industry through various support programs."
