Youngmi Yoon, President of the Korea Importers Association, Discusses Cooperation with Colombian and Japanese Ambassadors to Korea
The Korea Importers Association announced on May 2 that it had met with the Colombian Ambassador to Korea and the Japanese Ambassador to Korea to discuss ways to strengthen trade cooperation.

View original imageOn the morning of the same day, Youngmi Yoon, President of the Korea Importers Association, met with Alejandro Pelaez Rodriguez, Colombian Ambassador to Korea, at the association’s reception room in Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. They exchanged views on the schedule for a Colombian food-related delegation’s visit to Korea scheduled for June, as well as participation in a trade fair to be held in Colombia in July.
Ambassador Rodriguez requested the interest and participation of association member companies. President Yoon expressed her expectations for business outcomes, noting the high potential of the local market that she observed during her previous visit to Colombia. They also discussed possible cooperation between the Colombia Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka Expo and the association’s summer seminar scheduled for September. The head of ProColombia’s Korea office also attended the meeting and shared practical possibilities for cooperation with Colombia.
In the afternoon, President Yoon visited the Embassy of Japan in Korea and held a meeting with Ambassador Koichi Mizushima. They discussed ways to cooperate regarding the dispatch of the “Japan Summer Seminar and Import Delegation” scheduled for September. President Yoon stated that this seminar is planned to be linked with a visit to the 2025 Osaka Expo, and expressed hope that this would further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

In response, Ambassador Mizushima conveyed that the Japanese Embassy would provide full support to ensure the successful hosting of the event. He also expressed hope that, in this meaningful year marking the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, practical exchanges and cooperation between the two countries would continue to expand.
