Moon Dahye Appeals First-Instance Fine for Drunk Driving and Illegal Lodging Charges
Moon Da-hye, the daughter of former President Moon Jae-in, who has been charged with drunk driving and operating illegal lodging businesses, has appealed the first-instance court ruling that sentenced her to a fine.
According to the legal community on April 28, Moon Da-hye's side submitted an appeal to the court on April 24.
The prosecution also filed an appeal on April 23, citing the inadequacy of the sentence, meaning both sides will continue their legal battle in the appellate court.
Previously, on April 17, the Seoul Western District Court sentenced Moon Da-hye to a fine of 15 million won in the first trial.
Moon Da-hye was indicted on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act after she drove her car while heavily intoxicated and changed lanes, colliding with a taxi following behind her in front of the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on October 5 last year.
