On April 18, SK Telecom confirmed signs that some information related to users' USIM cards had been leaked due to malicious code deployed by hackers. The leaked data reportedly includes unique identification numbers used to identify each subscriber's USIM card. The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the police are currently investigating the incident.
SK Telecom explained that it has elevated its Fraud Detection System (FDS) to the highest level to block abnormal authentication attempts, and that no cases of damage have been reported since the security breach.
