The Daejeon Waterworks Headquarters announced on April 23 that it held the regular meeting of the Tap Water Evaluation Committee for the first half of this year, where the safety and quality of tap water were discussed.
During the meeting, participants discussed key initiatives for this year, including the smart remote water meter reading project utilizing IoT, the expansion of advanced water purification facilities for the production of high-quality tap water, the tap water quality report, and the results of water sampling and quality inspections at each stage of the Wolpyeong system supply process.
Committee members offered various suggestions to enhance trust in tap water, such as expanding on-site water quality inspections and replacing aging water supply and distribution pipes.
Park Dohyun, head of the Waterworks Headquarters, stated, "The Tap Water Evaluation Committee is an important system that allows us to review internal operations from the citizens' perspective and gather a variety of external ideas. We will actively reflect the opinions discussed at the meeting and do our utmost to provide the best tap water that citizens can drink with confidence."
