Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Donghun) announced on April 18 that it is opening the first Fred boutique in the Honam region, featuring the French high jewelry brand 'Fred'.
The Gwangju Shinsegae Fred boutique was designed as a dazzling tribute by the maison to the French Riviera, a place deeply cherished by its founder, Fred Samuel.
For Fred Samuel, the Riviera was a wellspring of inspiration, filled with brilliant sunlight, the blue sea and sky, and the gentle sway of palm trees in the breeze. It was also where his passionate fascination with light and color began.
The Fred boutique stands out for its harmonious balance of contrasting elements, encapsulating the unique DNA of Fred. The arch-shaped details throughout the boutique evoke sophisticated architectural motifs, resulting in a beautiful blend of classical and modern architecture.
The flowing curves, which contrast with the solidity of the building, and the organic, natural silhouettes that oppose the structural lines, are also important aspects of Fred's heritage. The exterior design, which depicts undulating waves, and the graceful gradation of Fred Blue within the space, are reminiscent of the sparkling blue sea of the Riviera.
The newly opened Fred boutique reinterprets the joy and exuberance of life on the Riviera, as experienced by Fred Samuel, through the maison's distinctive artistic sensibility and modernity. The soft ivory-colored facade that wraps around the front of the boutique resembles the sand of the Riviera coastline.
Additionally, the interior's roof pattern details are inspired by Fred's iconic Force 10 collection, symbolizing a yacht embarking on an adventurous voyage.
In detail, the bridal zone harmoniously reinterprets the meaning of love and new beginnings through three fresco designs, which are emblematic motifs of the Riviera and symbolize love, union, and eternity.
The unique warmth conveyed by the white and yellow gold colors is intended to bless the precious moments of those about to embark on a moving new journey.
Finally, the VIP salon, which offers a private presentation space, is completed with a warmth reminiscent of the radiant Riviera sunlight, allowing guests to experience Fred's heritage and craftsmanship.
Lee Donghun, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, stated, "At the Gwangju Shinsegae Fred boutique, visitors will be able to appreciate Fred's originality and craftsmanship," and added, "We hope there will be great interest in Fred, the first French high jewelry brand to debut in the Honam region."
