[Special Stock] POSCO Inter Rises Over 5% on Hanmi's 'Alaska LNG' Discussions
POSCO International showed strong performance in the early trading session on the 9th. This is interpreted as being influenced by the news that U.S. President Donald Trump and Acting President and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo discussed the development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Alaska, USA.
As of 9:46 a.m. that day, POSCO International's stock was trading at 46,200 KRW, up 5.00% compared to the previous trading day.
The Prime Minister's Office stated that during a call with President Trump the previous day, Acting President Han emphasized a higher level of cooperation with the U.S. side in three major areas: shipbuilding, LNG, and trade balance. President Trump also posted on the social networking service (SNS) Truth Social immediately after the call, saying, "We talked about their (Korea's) huge and unsustainable surplus, tariffs, shipbuilding, large-scale purchases of U.S.-made LNG, joint investment in the Alaska pipeline, and payment for the massive military protection we provide to Korea."
