By using the Paju Pay incentives, citizens can enjoy up to a 10% fare reduction, which is expected to reduce their economic burden and encourage more frequent taxi use, thereby revitalizing the taxi industry.
In particular, with Kona I’s taxi calling system integrated into the Paju Pay app, it has become easier to call taxis through the app, and with the automatic payment feature, the entire process from calling to payment is expected to become much more convenient. Payment via Paju Pay is also available when using Cheonwon Taxi and voucher taxis for transportation-disadvantaged groups, which is expected to expand mobility rights for socially marginalized groups.
Kona I is conducting a promotional event to encourage usage, providing a 3,000 KRW coupon to the first 3,000 new users who sign up between April 1 and 30.
Paju City is currently prioritizing individual taxis due to restrictions on local currency merchant registration requirements, but plans to work toward easing merchant standards through Gyeonggi-do local currency review to allow participation by general (corporate) taxis as well.
