Namwon City to Host Namwon Korea Open International Roller Sports Competition
To Be Held at Namwon Sports Town from July 17 to 23
Namwon City in North Jeolla Province announced on the 28th that it will host the '18th Namwon Korea Open International Roller Competition' at the Namwon Sports Town from July 17 to 23.
The event is sponsored by Namwon City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. It is organized by the Namwon City Sports Council and the Korea Roller Sports Federation, and supervised by the Jeonbuk Roller Federation and the Namwon Roller Sports Federation.

View original imageThis year's competition will see the participation of more than 1,200 top athletes from 12 countries, including Japan, Russia, Taiwan, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, and Australia, further cementing its reputation as an international event.
With teams from various countries visiting annually, the Namwon Korea Open International Roller Competition has firmly established itself as an international event. It is credited with playing a pivotal role in transforming Namwon, a small city with a population of 80,000, into a global hub for roller sports.
The city plans to actively support the games based on the know-how and experience accumulated from hosting previous competitions. Thorough preparations are being made for safety and traffic measures, medical support, and hygiene inspections to ensure the successful hosting of the event.
Mayor Choi Kyungsik stated, "Through the successful hosting of this international competition, we will raise the status of local sports and strive to become a global sports tourism city."
