[Featured Stock] Atinum Invest, Strong on 'US Robot Company Investment'
At 9:32 a.m. on the 19th, Atinum Investment recorded 2,170 won on the KOSDAQ market, up 4.08% from the previous closing price. This appears to be due to the news that it invested in the U.S. humanoid robot company Apttronic along with Google and others.
According to the investment banking (IB) industry, last month, Korean venture capital (VC) firms including Atinum Investment, Korea Investment Partners, Kyobo Life Insurance, and Shinhan Venture Investment participated in Apttronic's Series A investment worth about $400 million (5.8 trillion won) together with global investors including Google in the U.S.
Apttronic was founded in 2016 at the University of Texas at Austin campus in the U.S. and has developed more than 15 robot systems, including NASA's humanoid robot "Valkyrie." At the end of last year, it announced plans to develop humanoid robots in partnership with Google DeepMind.
