Shinan County to Host the 'Lee Sedol Cup National Baduk Championship' on the 22nd
Lee Sedol Fan Signing Event to Be Held
Shinan County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Park Wooryang) announced on the 18th that the "4th Shinan Lee Sedol Cup National Baduk Tournament" will be held at the Shinan County Citizens' Gymnasium on the 22nd and 23rd, divided into a total of 20 categories including the National Division, Honam Division, Jeonnam Division, and Shinan Division.
The National Division will feature the National Strongest Division to determine the strongest amateur Baduk player, as well as the Senior and Women's Divisions, the Korea Women's Baduk Federation 5-member team competition, and a 3-member team competition for city and provincial executives nationwide.

In particular, as the tournament has been renamed the Lee Sedol Cup, a Lee Sedol fan signing event is scheduled, and various events will be held, such as free access to tourist attractions in Shinan County, greatly raising participants’ expectations.
A county official said, “Our county is the hometown of the world-renowned Baduk star Lee Sedol. We have consistently sponsored and hosted various Baduk tournaments every year, including the Kuksusanmaek International Baduk Tournament and the World Baduk Championship. We are also making great efforts to expand the base of Korean Baduk beyond Shinan County by promoting Baduk classroom projects to nurture young Baduk talents.”
