Marine Corps, Colonel Park Jeong-hoon Appointed as Personnel Duty Deputy Chief
Colonel Park Jeong-hoon of the Marine Corps, who was acquitted in the first trial after being prosecuted for insubordination and defamation of a superior officer while investigating the ‘Chaesangbyeong incident,’ will be assigned a new position.
The Marine Corps announced on the 6th that Colonel Park will be appointed as the Deputy Chief of Personnel Affairs, considering his expertise and experience in military police, effective from the 7th. The Marine Corps explained, “Going forward, Colonel Park will carry out duties related to establishing Marine Corps barracks culture, as well as policy and institutional development.”
Since being dismissed from his position as investigation team leader in August 2023, Colonel Park had been serving near the Marine Corps Headquarters without an official post.

Regarding the appointment as Deputy Chief of Personnel Affairs, the Marine Corps stated, “This is a non-organized position, temporarily assigned,” and added, “We communicated with Colonel Park, and he accepted the assignment.”
