Uljin-gun Improves Civil Service... Practicing Impressive and Serving Administration
Gyeongbuk Uljin-gun (Governor Son Byeong-bok) is promoting various user-centered civil service convenience policies to create a customized happy civil service office where residents can be satisfied and communicate empathetically.
The key tasks are operating user-centered civil service convenience services, creating a pleasant civil service office environment, and strengthening the protection of civil service officials.
◆ Operation of user-centered civil service convenience services
First, to provide customized convenience services, digital vulnerable groups who have difficulty using unmanned certificate issuance machines can comfortably use civil services with the help of civil service guides. ▲ Among the 18 unmanned civil service issuance machines operating the mileage system for shortening civil service processing time, 4 locations have been expanded to 24-hour operation. ▲ Various civil service convenience services such as operating the Civil Service Adjustment Committee are being implemented.
In addition, to improve civil service, a 2025 civil service satisfaction survey will be conducted through mobile and telephone interviews to improve inconveniences regarding kindness, promptness, fairness, expertise, civil service environment, and facility usability.
◆ Creating a pleasant civil service office environment
To create a convenient and clean environment, the ‘Priority Civil Service Window’ is operated to consider the difficulty of disabled persons, elderly, and pregnant women who cannot wait for a long time, allowing them to be served before other civil service users. Also, to enable residents to process civil services faster and more conveniently, a ‘Smart Queue Waiting System’ has been established to efficiently manage waiting times by window, making it easy for anyone to use.
To share small happiness with residents, customer satisfaction services such as ▲ a dedicated book cafe for civil service users ▲ free use of PCs and printers for civil service users ▲ self-health check corner ▲ tea and beverage corner are provided. This year, the civil service department will be remodeled to enhance convenience such as rest areas for civil service users.
◆ Strengthening protection of civil service officials
To protect officials from illegal acts such as verbal abuse and assault by civil service users, safety personnel are deployed, and an emergency bell is directly connected with Uljin Police Station to establish a cooperative system that enables organic and immediate response to malicious civil service users. ▲ CCTV installation ▲ safety shields and other safety devices have been installed, and portable protective equipment such as recorders have been introduced to implement protection measures for civil service officials.
