Grand Prize Awarded for Easing Public Job Participation Requirements
Seoul City received proposals for unnecessary regulations to be abolished or improved from all departments and employees earlier this year, and the idea to improve the convenience of using transportation cards for children with disabilities won the grand prize.
On the afternoon of the 4th, the city held a 'Creative Regulation Abolition Presentation' attended by about 150 citizens and experts. At the presentation, 10 proposals were revealed, selected from 753 regulation abolition suggestions submitted by public officials during January, reflecting the results of an online citizen pre-vote and expert committee opinions.

The proposal includes introducing an automatic registration system so that the transportation card for children with disabilities can be used without separate registration upon issuance.
The top excellence award went to a proposal to relax the income criteria for participation in Seoul City's public jobs from 80% of the median income to 85%.
The excellence awards were given to ideas including ▲extending the maximum usage time of village buses from 1 hour to 2 hours ▲relaxing rental standard regulations for tenant companies in Magok Industrial Complex ▲abolishing the selection criteria for emergency temporary care facilities for elementary students.
The five proposals that received encouragement awards were ▲strengthening self-reliance support by expanding the age range for supporting youth victims of sexual exploitation ▲abolishing balcony installation standards for officetels in Seoul ▲expanding discount application for the Youth Climate Companion Card ▲improving private garden regulations to revitalize the local economy ▲lifting the designation of Yangjae-daero as a car-only road.
The city plans to promptly implement the 10 regulation abolition proposals announced that day after completing the necessary regulatory adjustments to enhance citizen convenience.
