Hong Joon-pyo Announces Plans to Publish Two Books
"Dreams Come True" and "The 7th Republic" to Be Released This Month
Collections of Political Reflections and Future Visions for Korea
Hong Joon-pyo, the mayor of Daegu, announced that he will publish his new book "Dreams Come True" in mid-this month.
On the 4th, Mayor Hong introduced on his Facebook post, "While my previous book 'Why is Politics Like This' contained criticism of real politics, the book 'Dreams Come True' is a collection of Facebook posts about recent political situations."
He also introduced another book he is publishing, "The 7th Republic (Great Korea) Opens the Era of an Advanced Nation," which he wrote to lay the foundation for Korea's next 100 years, saying, "It is a book that organizes my thoughts based on advice from experts in various fields."
Mayor Hong said, "During the past three difficult years, on one hand, I focused on Daegu city administration, and on the other hand, I only thought about the future of my country, the Republic of Korea," adding, "This book will be a compilation of my thoughts on the future of Korea."
Earlier, Mayor Hong officially declared his intention to run in the early presidential election. At a press conference at Daegu City Hall at the end of last year, he stated his intention to run for president, saying, "If the market is set, won't the peddler move?"
Then, on the 24th of last month, in the Q&A session "Youth's Dream" on his online communication channel 'Youth's Dream,' in response to the comment "Whether it is an early presidential election or a normal one, it is better to stay in the mayor's office," he replied, "If a presidential election happens, I will resign from the mayor's office."

Mayor Hong emphasized, "If I come to power, all the issues of TK (Daegu and Gyeongbuk) will be resolved," adding, "I cannot openly rely on a backer for my final challenge."
