Industry-Academia Cooperation for Nurturing Specialized Talent
in the Advanced Industry Sector (AI Robotics)
National Pukyong University (President Bae Sang-hoon) and the Busan AI Robot Industry Association (Chairman Song Young-hwan) signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement on February 28 to promote the development of Busan's strategic advanced industry sector (AI robotics).

View original imagePresident Bae Sang-hoon and Chairman Song Young-hwan held the signing ceremony in the president's office on the 3rd floor of the university headquarters at National Pukyong University that afternoon, agreeing to strengthen exchanges and mutual cooperation in workforce development, education, and research in the advanced industry sector.
Accordingly, both organizations agreed to △ conduct research and development and industry-academia projects in the advanced industry sector △ carry out workforce development projects and jointly develop curricula reflecting corporate demands △ provide educational programs to improve job skills of employees △ cooperate in K-Digital Training education and training, employment and entrepreneurship support, and field training, internships, and recruitment linkage for program graduates.
Both institutions plan to jointly discover research and cooperation projects between academia and industry, revitalize the AI robotics industry market in the Busan region, and focus on nurturing future core talents practically needed by companies in the field.
National Pukyong University is operating the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s K-Digital Training courses (Hyper AI and Go Pinbot Project courses) and has applied to add courses in the AI robotics field following this project. The AI robotics field combines the existing robotics industry with artificial intelligence and is a new technology sector applicable to various areas such as autonomous mobile robots and industrial collaborative robots.
