Supporting University Admission for Out-of-School Youths
in Yongsan-gu through the Youth Life Record
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) announced that six out-of-school youths who participated in the Yongsan-gu Youth Support Center (Yongsan-gu Kkumdeulim) program, which is operated on a consignment basis, have been accepted into universities for the 2025 academic year.
Yongsan-gu Kkumdeulim supports out-of-school youths aged 9 to 24 in returning to their studies or entering society, helping them grow into healthy members of society.
Among the successful candidates, Jo (20) fulfilled his dream of entering Seoul National University through the “Youth Life Record” admission track. This is the second case of a youth from Yongsan-gu Kkumdeulim entering Seoul National University using the Youth Life Record.
The Youth Life Record is an alternative document that out-of-school youths can submit instead of a school life record when applying for university early admission (comprehensive student record screening). This program was established to help youths learn and grow through various activities and experiences even outside of school.
Jo said, “Out-of-school youths often face difficulties applying for early admission because they do not have a student life record,” and expressed gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the Kkumdeulim Center, I was able to prepare the Youth Life Record, which greatly helped me enter university.” He also added, “I hope out-of-school youths preparing for university through the qualification exam will achieve their dreams through the Kkumdeulim Center.”
Yongsan-gu Kkumdeulim operates various online and offline programs such as counseling support, educational support, and job experience to help out-of-school youths gain confidence through diverse experiences and prepare for a better future.
