Director Lee joined the campaign upon the nomination of Hwang Young-gi, Chairman of Green Umbrella. Director Lee stated, "Population issues, including low birth rates, are very challenging problems our society faces and are complex social phenomena that cannot be resolved by relying solely on the government." She added, "Hanmiyeon aims to be a research institute that proposes practical measures enabling the private sector, especially companies that can provide tangible help in changing people's lives, to take the lead in solving these problems."
Director Lee nominated Gyeongbuk Province Governor Lee Cheol-woo and Kim On-gi, Chairman of the nonprofit organization Puruni, as the next participants in the relay campaign.
