Pohang City Welcomes First High-Value Donor as New Member of the Honor Society in the New Year

On the 15th, Pohang City and the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea presented an Honor Society membership plaque to Ji Young-hwan, director of Hwain Clinic, the first major donor of the new year in Pohang, at the City Hall External Cooperation Office.

View original imageThe ceremony was attended by Mayor Lee Kang-deok, Jeon Woo-heon, chairman of the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea, and Lim Jae-seon, head of the Pohang City Fruit of Love Sharing Volunteer Group, among others.
The Honor Society is a group of individual major donors who pledge to donate 100 million won or more within five years. Director Ji Young-hwan was registered as the 12th member of the Pohang Honor Society and the first member of this year in the Pohang region.
Director Ji Young-hwan of Hwain Clinic said, “I will continue to make steady efforts to lead the culture of sharing for our neighbors in need,” adding, “I will practice living together with neighbors and spread positive energy to the local community.”
Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “I sincerely thank Ji Young-hwan, an Honor Society member, for delivering warm sharing despite the difficult economic situation,” and added, “I hope that the donor’s warm heart will be well conveyed and that the Pohang region will be filled with warmth throughout this year.”

At the event, a delivery ceremony for Lunar New Year support funds for neighbors in need was also held as part of the 2025 Community Chest planned projects. The total support fund delivered was 92 million won, which will be distributed to 920 households in need, including multicultural families, people with disabilities, and children and youth in the Pohang area for the Lunar New Year holiday.
