[AAA2024] "AI Teaching Store Operation Methods"... MayAI Wins Venture Business Association President Award
‘2024 Asia AI Awards’ Held
Startup MayAI, which provides the AI-based offline store visitor analysis solution ‘Mesh’, received the Venture Business Association President’s Award at the ‘2024 Asia AI Awards’ held on the 19th at the Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.
MayAI was highly praised for independently developing and applying an AI-based video processing engine to analyze visitor data through CCTV footage. Mesh’s video processing AI analyzes all data from visitors’ gender and age group to movement paths, dwell time, behavior, and interactions with products.
It is also possible to combine video data collected from multiple CCTVs to analyze comprehensive visitor data at the store level. This allows for complete tracking of each visitor’s customer journey, analyzing from the moment a specific person enters the store until they leave, including what events they triggered at what times. To achieve this, MayAI uses a proprietary re-identification model specialized for CCTV environments and has developed methods to reduce the impact of visitor recognition errors.
MayAI’s AI technology also received high marks for providing practical solutions for operating offline stores. The data analyzed by AI serves as a basis to suggest directions on how to organize the store to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs). It objectifies and automates customer information and provides an environment to monitor KPIs such as visit-to-purchase conversion rates and dwell time by store, enabling benchmarking of high-performing stores.
Given the use of CCTV footage, special attention was paid to safety. The transmission process structurally blocks external connection requests, ensuring security against hacking and data leaks. Information about visitors in video files undergoes pseudonymization through deep learning technology to convert it into data.
