Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Encourages 'Hongit Ingan' Participants Leading the Realization of a Barrier-Free City
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the seminar room of Mapo Central Library on the afternoon of December 16th for the performance sharing meeting of the resident participation budget project ‘Hongit Ingan’.
The ‘Hongit Ingan’ project was carried out with the aim of creating an urban living environment where all Mapo residents can live conveniently.
The ‘Hongit Ingan’ project involved the Mapo Disabled Users Facility Solidarity, consisting of eight organizations including the Mapo Disabled Welfare Center. They led the creation of a barrier-free city by achieving results such as developing the ‘Anyone’s Store’ certification, discovering 87 participating stores, and supporting convenience facilities including 87 help bells, 24 ramps, and 10 braille menus at ‘Anyone’s Store’ locations.
This performance report meeting proceeded in the order of a Nanta and sports dance performance by Uri Mapo Welfare Center, a presentation of key achievements by the director of Mapo Comprehensive Disabled Welfare Center, commendations and commemorative speech by Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, and congratulatory speeches by guests.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, “I sincerely thank everyone who worked hard throughout the year with the beautiful intention of connecting people and widely benefiting humanity,” and added, “Please continue to show great interest so that Mapo can be a place where disability does not lead to discrimination and no one is left out.”
