Lee Chansu, Former People Power Party Human Rights Commissioner, Appointed New President of Employment Information Service
Three-Year Term Begins with Appointment of Minister of Employment and Labor
The Korea Employment Information Service announced on the 11th that Lee Chang-su, former non-standing auditor of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, has been appointed as the new president. Lee, who served as the Human Rights Committee Chairperson of the People Power Party until April, will lead the Employment Information Service for the next three years.
President Lee graduated from Cheonan Jungang High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Korean Language and Literature from Dankook University. He later obtained a master's degree in Hyo Culture from Seongsan Hyo Graduate School and completed his doctoral coursework.
President Lee has served as Chief Secretary to the Governor of Chungnam Province, a working member of the Presidential Local Autonomy Development Committee, spokesperson and Human Rights Committee Chairperson of the People Power Party Central Party. Since July last year, he has served as a non-standing auditor of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.

The Employment Information Service publicly recruited a new president after former president Kim Young-jung was dismissed in August following an E-grade management evaluation due to the 'Worknet hacking' incident that occurred in June last year. Subsequently, three times the number of candidates were recommended to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and Minister Kim Moon-soo appointed President Lee.
